This document covers three BLOX NXT service types that grant access by rule rather than by selling purchase rates: Free services, Domain services, and Linked Site services. None of them have Purchase Rates. General Settings, Custom Properties, and Email Notifications are covered in the Service Settings and Email Notifications document.
Free services
Free services give readers access without payment, for example a free registration tier.

Be careful with Auto Signup on a Free service. With Auto Signup and Trial turned on, every reader who creates an account gets free access indefinitely. Leave both off unless that's what you intend.
Email Notifications available for Free services: Activate User, Expiring User, and Expired User for readers; Activate for admins. All other notices are grayed out.
Domain services
Domain services give access to readers whose email address belongs to a domain you list, such as a university, school district, or business partner. In place of Purchase Rates, a Domain service's detail page shows a Domain Management panel above Email Notifications. A Domain service needs at least one domain before it can be created.

Domain Management lists the domains on the service, with a count at the right (for example, "2 of 2 results"). A new service shows "No domains have been added to this service yet."

To add a domain to a Domain service:
Click + New in Domain Management.
Enter the domain name in the Add Domain window, without "www" or "https://" (for example, example.com).
Click Add Domain. The button stays grayed out until you enter a name.
Repeat for each domain, then click Create Service (new service) or Save Changes (existing service).
To add many domains to a Domain service at once: copy your list of domains, then click the clipboard icon next to the domain search box to paste them all into the service. To reuse a domain list on another Domain service, copy it with the copy icon and paste it into the other service.

Email Notifications available for Domain services: Activate User, Purchase User, Renewal User, Recurring Payment Failure User, Expiring User, Expired User, Cancel Notice, and Refund Request for readers; Activate, Purchase, and Recurring Payment Failure for admins. Payment Updated, Rate Swap User, Upcoming Renewal Notice, and Rate Change Notice are grayed out.
Linked Site services
Linked Site services share subscription access from another site. A reader who subscribes on the linked site gets access on this site too, for example when a daily and a weekly paper offer one subscription across both sites. Linked Site services have no Purchase Rates, Domain Management panel, or File Upload panel.

Sites must be linked first. The Linked Site list only includes sites already linked to yours. If none are set up, a Linked Site service's Configuration shows "No configuration fields available for this service type," Email Notifications are empty, and the service can't be created. Contact BLOX Digital support to link your sites.
