Home Interface Overview - Getting Started
Overview
The Home Interface consists of several key parts, these include the Home Dashboard and an introduction to the concept of ‘Data where you work’, Bento Navigation allowing navigation between applications, Site Selection, Application Navigation, and the Omni Search. In addition the Home Interface contains a Create Shortcut and Profile Options.
📝 ‘Beta Flags’ (‘the beaker’ icons) have been placed within the Application Navigation and in other parts of BLOX NXT to signify that these features are in some stage of Beta testing and feedback and are not ready for prime time.

Home Dashboard - ‘Data where you work’
What does ‘data where you work’ mean? Data where you work is an acknowledgement that data is at the forefront of almost every decision our partners make and BLOX Digital is committed to making that data as accessible as possible.
The Home Dashboard contains a number of widgets including Trending Content, Views, Marketing, Traffic Source, Need Help?, Service Updates, and Software Releases.

Bento Navigation
The Bento Navigation allows navigation between the selected site’s available applications and the ‘Legacy BLOX CMS Admin’.

Site Selection
The Site Selection displays branding for the current site and allows navigation to other available sites. It provides an option to set a default site when BLOX NXT is opened and the Site Selection also contains options for Site Preview including ‘View front page’, ‘View front page anonymously’, and ‘View front page preview’.
Click on the dropdown to the right of the current site to change site. Your current site will be highlighted in green. Optionally start typing the site domain you want to switch to or scroll to find the site your are looking for. Click on a site listed to make it your current site.
Click ‘Default Site Settings’ to expand and optionally set your default site to the current site.
Click ‘Site Preview’ to expand and access the site preview options.

Application Navigation
The Application Navigation allows navigation within the selected application. For example, while in the Content Management application, Application Navigation allows navigation between Editorial Search, Editorial Dashboard, Feeds, etc.
In addition, Application Navigation offers options to return to the Home Dashboard, access help documentation, and collapse or expand the Application Navigation.

Omni Search
The Omni Search is a unified search that allows users to query across all available applications. For example, an editor could type, "Create a blank Article Asset" in the Omni Search and they will automatically be taken to the Content Management application and presented with a new, blank article asset.
Some examples of Omni Search Queries include:
“Create a blank Article asset.”
“Find gardening articles from the last month.”
“Create a new Image asset.”
“Which articles have pending drafts?”
“Show me all draft articles from this month."
"Reset password for {contact email}."

Create Shortcut
The Create Shortcut option lets users quickly create any number of items such as an asset or a user account. It recommends options based on the current application and allows users to pin frequently used items.

Profile Options
Profile Options are available by clicking on the Profile icon in the upper right. These include, Dark Mode, Site Preview options, Language options, Session Tracking, Default asset start time, Default asset workflow, Default asset author and Sign Out.
