What is BLOX Now App?
The BLOX Now app is a new delivery app powered by BLOX CMS. Topics (section pages) within the app are managed within the Blocks Manager in the same way as other site pages that pull content in from the CMS. The Now app utilizes Google Firebase for Push Notification functionality and ties directly into Google Analytics for audience tracking.
Interface Overview
Since the Now app is managed within the Blocks Manager, making app changes will be very familiar to making changes to pages on the website. Most app changes will appear after a short caching period and don't require an app upgrade through Apple or Google.
URL map: The BLOX Now app is typically configured beneath the /nowapp URL. A BLOX site can feature multiple NOW apps, with the second app typically being built beneath /nowapp_sports or other specific-use section. Just like Classifieds or e-Edition, the BLOX Now app is also built using a specific URL skin.
Blocks Library: This panel contains all of the content blocks that have been created. We recommend including "Now" within the naming convention to make searching for mobile-friendly blocks easy.
Schedules: This panel allows you to create page schedules that can be added to any URL. Once a schedule has been added, a duplicate section will be available within the URL map. Any changes made within that section will only be viewable during the schedule.
Layout: This panel is the workspace where the page layout and navigation can be modified. Within the page layout, regions are available for placing content blocks. These regions are not determined by site's wireframe or grid.
Utility Regions: This panel contains a set of additional regions that can be utilized for displaying content blocks within asset pages.
Page Customizations: This panels consists of of a number of panels that contain settings and options that directly affect layout, design, advertising, paywall and other settings.
Push Notifications
Push Notifications for both the website and Now app are managed within BLOX Notifier.
