The Section Maps panel is used (in conjunction with the import process jobs) for mapping the site sections of a source site to a BLOX destination site. Websites can vary greatly in both section and URL structure; Completing a section map will alleviate many of the issues that can arise during the archive-migration process.
For example, an archive migration is taking place, but the URL structure between source and destination sites don't match up one-for-one.
Source URL structure:
The URL structure for the source site features the primary domain, followed by the primary section name and subsection. The subsection is constructed as the specific subsection, separated by the name of the primary section with a hyphen.
Destination BLOX URL structure:
The URL structure for the destination site features the primary domain, followed by the name of the umbrella site ("umbrella'), followed by the primary section name and subsection. The subsection is constructed only as the specific subsection and doesn't include an additional mention of the hyphen-separated primary section.
Create a new section map
To create a new map, select +New to populate the Create new map window. Assign a meaningful name and select Create. This will populate the Edit section map window.
Within the Edit section map window, select +Add to begin section mapping. This will populate the Add category map rules window.
The Add category map rules window is halved into 2 panels: Enter categories...and Choose site sections to map them to...
Within the left panel, select +Add to enter the name of the section from the destination site. Within the right panel, select the section within the section map the corresponding section should be mapped to and then select Add rules.
This process should be completed for all sections that will be included in the migration.
Import/Export section maps
To import/export a .CSV list of sections, use the option at the bottom of the panel to either select a .CSV to import or a destination in which to save the map.
