What is Semantic Analysis?
Semantic Analysis automatically adds both Keywords and Semantic Value to article assets, without the need for any 3rd-party API keys. Keywords are chosen by the algorithm working in the background. TownNews customers who are participating in our Content Exchange Network and/or iQ DMP programs can take advantage of Semantic Analysis.
How to enable Semantic Analysis
Semantic Analysis can be enabled within the Editorial Assets Application Settings, within the Semantic Analysis panel.
Open Calais: This option utilizes a third-party Metadata service that is fully integrated with BLOX CMS by default
BLOX CMS SmartTagging: SmartTagging will allow for auto-tagging and auto-discovery of sections. You can also set a minimum relevance.
Auto-tag keywords: Automatically extract keywords from content and add them to the asset when it is saved.
Set minimum relevance: Only keywords reported with at least this much relevance to the content will be automatically added to the asset.
Auto-discover sections: Automatically discover sections relevant to the content and add them to the asset when saved. These sections will not match your site's sections.
Limits: Each domain is alloted 1,500 articles per day that can be tagged. If a domain exceeds this limit, the articles beyond 1,500 will not be tagged.
Taxonomies: BLOX CMS SmartTagging utilizes two classification taxonomies.
IPTC: International Press Telecommunications Council taxonomy is a comprehensive framework primarily used in the media industry for classifying content. It entails a range of categories and subcategories that help in organizing articles, images and content.
IAB: Interactive Advertising Bureau taxonomy is a classification system used in digital advertising to categorize content and audiences. This taxonomy helps in improving ad placement and relevance by aligning content with advertiser goals, enhancing user experience and ad effectiveness.
