How and why to run your site in Secure mode

Overview

Google, and other major browser companies, have been encouraging website owners to protect websites with Secure Mode for the last few years, and now are taking steps to reward sites which have implemented its recommendations. In the future, they plan to warn end-users of non-secure sites with a red icon or other message.
