BLOX CMS is a content management system that manages the publication of digital content. Each application within the BLOX CMS suite specializes in a unique set of tasks. Many applications tie into each other, lending to a more seamless admin user-experience.
The BLOX CMS application menu consists of the following applications. If a menu item is missing from your instance of BLOX CMS, it may require an additional purchase. Please contact your regional salesperson.
Editorial
Editorial applications are relating to creating editorial assets, as well as syndicating content into BLOX CMS from external sources.
Assets: BLOX Assets is where editorial content is created and managed within BLOX CMS. Editorial content includes articles, images, videos, polls, tables and other types of assets.Editorial applications are related to asset and media creation.
e-Editions: BLOX e-Edition is where e-Edition publications are created and managed within BLOX CMS.
Syndication: BLOX Syndication is used to aggregate and manage content from various sources across the web for use within BLOX CMS.
Design
Design applications are related to working with the page layout and other visual site elements.
Blocks: The Blocks Manager is where the site page layout and corresponding page customizations are managed.
Forms: BLOX Forms is a form-builder application for creating and managing custom forms forms on your site.
Media Library: BLOX Media Library is an image library for storing non-editorial images.
Now app: The BLOX Now app is a new delivery app powered by BLOX CMS. Topics (section pages) within the app are managed within the Blocks Manager in the same way as other site pages that pull content in from the CMS. The Now app utilizes Google Firebase for Push Notification functionality and ties directly into Google Analytics for audience tracking.
OTT: BLOX OTT enables media organizations to grow their audiences with branded channels on all of the major streaming platforms, including Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.
Static Pages: BLOX Static Pages is where informational site pages are managed.
Community
Community applications are related to audience engagement.
Access Control: BLOX Access Control is where targeted experiences can be configured based on audience or behavior in conjunction with the Access Control decision engine.
Calendar: BLOX Calendar is the application where calendar events are created and managed within BLOX CMS. BLOX Calendar can be used to manage events managed by Evvnt.
Comments: BLOX Comments is where user-contributed comments are managed.
Email Reach: BLOX Email Reach is where email newsletters are created and managed within BLOX CMS. Email Reach works with Constant Contact, the industry standard for email marketing.
Form Submissions: BLOX Forms Submissions is where forms that have been created with BLOX Forms are managed after they've been submitted by readers.
Notifier: BLOX Notifier is a messaging platform that manages the delivery of news to multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Push Notifications and Now mobile app.
Subscription: BLOX Subscription is where digital subscriptions are created and their subsequent transactions are managed.
User Accounts: BLOX User Accounts is where both BLOX Admin and Normal user accounts are managed. User Groups may also be created for restricting BLOX admins to specific BLOX application access.
Marketplace
Marketplace applications are related to revenue generation.
Ad-Owl: BLOX Ad-Owl is the application where user-submitted classifieds ads are managed within BLOX CMS. Ad-Owl allows users to submit classified ads at any time of day.
Banner Ads: BLOX Banner Ads is where non-Google ads are managed within BLOX CMS.

Classifieds: BLOX Classifieds is the application where classified ads are created and managed within BLOX CMS.
Upsell Manager: BLOX Upsell Manager is the application where upsell packages are created and managed.
Statistics
Statistics applications are related to stats and feedback relating to site traffic.
Analytics: BLOX Analytics is the application where reporting of site statistical data can be viewed. Reports can be set with unique parameters, allowing you to find the stats that you care about.
Data Insights: Data Insights seeks to be a comprehensive one-stop-shop for analytics about your entire site.
Support Tickets
The Ticket application provides quick access to submitting a support ticket directly to the TownNews Customer Support team.
Other
The Other applications provide access to the BLOX CMS Settings panel, BLOX CMS Dashboard and mobile view. a convenient mobile view for reporters in the field.
Settings: The BLOX Settings consist of a number of configuration panels for making site-wide changes.
News & Updates: The News & Updates page (or BLOX CMS Desktop) is the landing page BLOX admins see upon successful login.
Mobile View: Use this option to switch to the mobile admin interface, a streamlined tool for reporters in the field that use smaller devices.
