Business Directory is a powerful tool that helps increase revenue for your site. It's interfaced with other assets in BLOX and provides the flexibility for you to bolster business listings and drive revenue. Using Upsell Manager, you can create multiple packages for businesses, each varying on the type of assets to relate and how many they can have. This will help drive revenue for you. A standard business listing will not be able to leverage this cross functionality. A business must be a Featured business with a Featured Priority Number of 25 or higher. If so, Business Listings can be customized by relating various assets to the business. The following applications Assets can be added into a business listing.
Editorial Assets
All Editorial Assets can be related to a business listing. This is all done under Related / Children Assets in the Admin for the business.
When you relate a child asset to the business, there are different Marketplace Sections you can assign the asset too. By default, the following /marketplace sections are available.
- Award
- Blog
- Coupon
- Menu
- Photo
- Product
- Promotional
- Staff
- Testimonial
When an Editorial Asset is assigned to any of these sections, they will appear under that section on the business listing.
Calendar Events
A Calendar Event is related to a business listing in two ways; as a Sponsor and/or as a Venue. When setting up a Calendar Event, you do it from the Community / Calendar application. The other way is in the Business Listing itself within the BLOX admin. In the business listing, under Related, select Calendar Events and click Add. If the event is already on your system, click on Find Assets, if not, click on Event to create a new one. A Venue cannot be added from the business listing admin but all events that have been held at that business will show up in the admin for that business listing under Related / Calendar: Venue. The Venue is added to the event and Blox CMS will list the event in the business listing. When an event is related to a business, a map appears with the event on your site.
Classified Ads
Classified Ads related to a business is done the same way as Calendar: Venue. The business must be related to the Classified Ad when creating or editing the Ad. BLOX will list the event in the business listing.
Other Businesses
You can relate Other Businesses to a business listing. For example, a bank that has several locations, can relate those branch offices to the prime bank listing. In the business listing, under Related, select Related Businesses and click Add. If the business is already on your system, click on Find Assets, if not, click on Listing to create a new one.
Banner Ads
Banner Ads related to a business is done the same way as Calendar: Venue and Classified Ads. The business must be related to the Banner Ad when creating or editing the Ad. BLOX will list the Ad in the business listing.
Email Reach Newsletters
A business listing can be related to your Email Reach Newsletters. The business logo, info will appear with a link to that business. Essentially, the relationship between a Business Listing and a Newsletter is done with Banner Ads. By relating a business to a Banner Ad, and that Ad is assigned to the /newsletter section of your site, you can then place that Ad Block (created in Design / Blocks) where you want it on your newsletter. It's the Banner Ad that is the "conduit" for a Business Listing being added to a Newsletter.
Analytics
There are two ways to find the Analytics for a Business Listing. You can use the Analytics application or you can use the Reports section under Reports in the business listing.
