What is Disqus?
To set up Disqus commenting with the Flex templates, you must first create a Disqus Account (go to https://disqus.com/websites/). You will need to use Disqus For Websites in order to add this commenting style to your BLOX site.
Once you are at Disqus for Websites, sign up for an account. Once you have an account, you will need to go to Add Disqus to Your Site in order to create a shortname.
To create a shortname, enter your site name into the field. This will create your unique Disqus URL, which will become your shortname. The shortname cannot be changed, so make sure it is what you want before proceeding. You will need it to finish the process in BLOX.
Note: If you have already registered for a Disqus for websites account, but you don't know your shortname, please follow the directions at the link: https://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/466208-what-s-a-shortname-
To finish registering with Disqus, select your category and then register your site.
In the BLOX Admin
Once you have your Disqus shortname and have registered your site, you can open your BLOX Flex site, and find the site custom properties by going to Design / Blocks. If you wish to change the commenting style for the whole site, double click the top level URL. If you wish to change only one URL, open the site map and double click on the desired URL, for example, Arts and Entertainment. Then, open the Page Customizations panel on the right side of the screen.
To change commenting styles, find the dropdown that is titled Comments and open it. The Enable Comments customization should be set to true. In the Commenting Mode property, select Disqus. You may need to check the box to make this active before you can change it. Check the box next to the Disqus Shortname field and enter the shortname that you set up on the Disqus site. Once you have all the properties set correctly, choose Save changes and reload layout.
NOTE: You may need to wait a few minutes for the new commenting style to appear. You will know when it has switched over because the commenting rules will be gone, and there will be light grey Disqus information across the bottom.
For information on moderating comments through Disqus, please see the Disqus documentation.
