Release Notes
6.01.00-00 Released 2025.04.11
New Filter Field for Domains) Because some users have accounts for many domains, the Domain menu in the Login tab can be unwieldy. There is now a Filter field where the user can type a few characters to match the domain names. This limits the number of domains shown. UXP-210
User preferences for web service timeouts) Users can now manually control the length of time that specific classes of web services will wait for a response. If you’re experiencing frequent timeouts due to slow internet access, the values can be increased. Choose BLOX Total CMS plug-in > Preferences... Then click once on the Web Services category. Then adjust the sliders as deemed necessary and click the Close button. UXP-235
Export Snippets to Multiple Domains) The BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign now supports exporting snippets to multiple domains. This is automatically enabled when the folder export option is disabled - and that option is disabled by default. Users exporting snippets will have tabs for each domain they can reach and within each tab will be the publication code choices. UXP-346
Launch Order Requirement) If you don’t have a default domain for the BLOX Total CMS Plug-in for Adobe InDesign you’ll not be able to select a domain in plug-in if you already have a document open. This can confuse a user after a force quit, end task, or Adobe InDesign crash when the recovery document automatically opens. Close and Save the document and within a few seconds that Domain menu in the Login tab of the BLOX Total CMS Plug-in’s panel should allow you to select a domain. UPX-363
UI improvement for Snippet Export to Page Tracker) The Replace Snippet and Export Snippet buttons have been replaced with more logically named buttons. The Update Snippet button appears when the selected frames have been previously exported in the active domain. You might choose this to correct mistakes or tweak the frames or the settings. There is now a New Snippet button that will be available if the page items have never been exported as a snippet before. You can also use this to force a new internal id for the snippet if you’re exporting the same or modified frames again with a new name. UXP-363
Filter Page Design Snippets by the Page’s Page Content Type) The Snippet’s tab now has a visible checkbox when the user has selected the Page Design checkbox (and not Design Elements). It requires the use of the Pub Code checkbox. When all three are checked, the Page Design snippets will be automatically limited to those whose names contain the active pages’s Page Content Types. If no Page Content Type is applied, the tab will display all Page Design Snippets matching a Page Content Type name. UXP-374

New Option to hide Folders Menu in Snippets Tab) Since there is little benefit in using folders for storing snippets, they are now, by default not an option when using the Export Snippet function. In addition, by default, they no longer appear as a search option in the Snippet tab of the BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign. You can use the plug-in’s Preferences function to return the option. UXP-494
Better Snippet Previews when Frames have Auto-Size enabled) We were testing an issue from one of our client sites and found some frames that used Adobe InDesign’s Auto-Size option. Unfortunately, while perfectly valid, that option caused the Previews for the snippet to be less than handsome. We now remove that option when making the previews. This results in the snippet master left in the active document NOT having that option. Thus, if you subsequently export an update to that snippet, it will be turned off. UXP-500
Correction for Publication Codes of New Snippets) The original 6.0.0 version of the BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign had a design flaw where the publication codes wouldn’t get sent to Page Tracker on the first save of the snippet. This has been corrected. UXP-521
Snippet Grid View Sorting) The original 6.0.0 version of the BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign tended to present the snippets in reverse alphabetical order. It is not forced to display them in a case-insensitive order. UXP-521
Automatic Combining Domains from All Datacetners) When logging in to the BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign you will automatically be given access to all domains from all data centers. In other words, if your account can reach both East Coast (New York) and Midwest (Chicago) data centers, you’ll have access to all of them. You no longer have to log out of one data center to log into another. UXP-525
Revised Dialog for Snippet Ungroup Failure) When snippets using outdated, or very old graphics, are attempted to be exported, both the BLOX Total CMS Client for Adobe InDesign and the BLOX Total CMS Plug-in for Adobe InDesign may experience difficulty in editing the snippet to remove the group that Adobe InDesign mandates. The Plug-in now presents a more detailed dialog explaining the issue and provides additional details on every graphic included in the frames. UXP-537
Improvement for Template Master Update All Snippets) The Template Master feature to re-export all snippets in a document now has a user interface choice to segregate the Page Design from the Design Element snippets. This can be important because Page Design snippets are generally for unique publication codes and Design Element snippets frequently can be shared. By handling just one type at a time, the Template Master can maintain some rhythm and export them quickly. UXP-538
UI Change for Update All Snippets) The Template Master function for exporting legacy snippets from a master document is limited in the amount of space it can display. To accommodate large Master documents with many snippets, the Update All Snippets function now allows the checkboxes for snippets to scroll in their unique areas. UXP-538
Multi-Domain Snippet Export) As noted elsewhere, when exporting a snippet or geometry item using the BLOX Total CMS plug-in for Adobe InDesign you can export to multiple domains automatically. Part of that process involves seeing a tab for the available domains. To facilitate when a user has access to many, many domains, the area of the Export Snippet dialog presents the tabs for the domains has been changed to allow it to both expand and scroll. UXP-540
Progress Bars) Two progress bars have been added to the plug-in. The first one shows at the bottom of the BLOX Total CMS panel during login or domain changes. During login, it will scroll through three unique sets of tasks as login and domain selection happens. During a domain change, it will scroll through just one set. A second progress bar displays in a standalone dialog when the user first exports a snippet after login. The snippet process needs access to the publication codes for every domain the user can reach. So the progress bar there shows the process of retrieving the publication codes from all the domains. UXP-541
Snippet Pub Code Filtering Change) The original version of the publication code filtering provided a checkbox switch filter snippets for active publication code or no filtering. This didn’t allow a Template Master to search for snippets by publication code. Now the publication code filtering is a menu of all the publication codes in the active domain. You can turn it off by choosing the blank code at the top of the menu. UXP-561
Added User Preference for Maintain All in Export Snippet) There is now a user preference for the default setting of the Maintain All checkbox in the Export Snippet dialog. With this setting, you can determine whether the checkbox is chosen on new snippet exports. Any updated exports will follow the snippets' original setting. UXP-570
Delete Snippet Confirmation Dialog Now lists Name of Selected Snippet) When deleting a snippet there had always been a confirmation dialog. Now that dialog provides information about which snippet you are deleting. UXP-576
