This article describes how superusers can create other users.
Users can create other users if they are designated a superuser. (Please contact support to have your user login be converted to a superuser.) Superusers gain access to two additional sections in the Setup tab beyond the standard Players section — Users and YouTube.
To access the Users area of the BLOX VMS Video Manager, click the Setup tab, then click the Users button on the left side of the screen. A list of your account’s users will appear.
The Users section shows you what active and deactivated users are associated with your account(s). For all accounts that the superuser is associated with, the superusers can also add and remove those accounts from other users.
1. Click on the orange New button to open the Create User. Populate the User Name, E-Mail Address, Password/Repeat Password, First Name and Last Name fields with the appropriate information.
2. In the Accounts area, add the account(s) you would like the user to access. You can also specify if the user should have access to the Media Tab, Setup Tab, or both. It is important to select the Media Tab if the user needs to create videos, playlists, events, and/or channels.
3. You can determine if the user should have the Delete Permission. If enabled, the user has ability to delete videos, playlists, events, channels, and players. If disabled, the user can only create and edit items but cannot delete them (the trash can icon is not available for the user on edit pages.)
4. You can also designate this user as a Superuser by checking the Superuser box in the upper-right portion of the screen.
NOTE: If the user has Setup tab access but is not designated as a Superuser, the user will only see the Players section of the Setup tab. Please also note that Media and Setup permissions cannot be set on a per-account basis for users with access to multiple accounts.
When you are finished, click on the Save button to activate the user.
Superusers can also deactivate a user by clicking on the user and deselecting the Enabled box at top right. This prevents the user from being able to log in.
