Allowed video files that you can upload are .3g2, .3gp, .3gp2, .3gpp, .asf, .avi, .avs, .dv, .flc, .fli, .flv, .gvi, .m1v, .m2v, .m4e, .m4u, .m4v, .mjp, .mkv, .moov, .mov, .movie, .mp4, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .qt, .rm, .vfw, .vob, .webm .wm, .wmv.
Recommendations for source file preparation: BLOX Digital recommends the following specifications for source files:
Resolution: 1280x720p if 720p output is desired; 1920x1080p if 1080p output is desired.
Bitrate: 3-4 Mbps is typically fine for most digital uses. You do not and should not send us broadcast-quality bitrates as that will only lead to unnecessarily large source files to be stored; BLOX VMS generates outputs for digital playback upon receipt of a source upload.
Your organization has default format(s) to which all uploaded videos are transcoded. All videos are output to .m3u8 and .mp4 formats. You are able to specify a pixel height (240, 360, 576, 720, or 1080).
The formats can be changed on a per-video basis. When creating a new video item, click the Change button underneath the file upload window on the right. This opens a popup with available file formats. Select the format to which you’d like to transcode your file.
You can also add additional formats to an existing video item. When editing an existing item, you can see the formats that have been transcoded or are in progress at the top left. You can start additional transcodes by clicking the Add button and selecting additional formats.
