In this release of the BLOX Total CMS Client (version 5.78), we've added some requirements when handling multi-page documents within Distributed Production. Additionally, we made the HTML that handles the public-facing download mechanism a little prettier. Lastly, an enhancement was made to better accommodate the PCAB export to SCS’ platform.
- New Option to Remove Uploaded Output Preferences in Template Master
There is a new option at BLOX Total CMS > Development > Page Tracker Output Management > Remove Uploaded Output Preferences.... Its sole purpose is to return to using local XML files for output rather than ones stored in Page Tracker. (INDESIGN-3679)
- Improved Support for Closing Non-BLOX Total CMS Documents in Distributed Production
The prior release purposely made it difficult to close multi-page documents in a Distributed Production environment because some users had managed to check in the unsplit multi-page documents from creating the edition file. Unfortunately, we had other users who occasionally needed to open non-BLOX Total CMS multi-page documents with Adobe InDesign. The prior change made these too non-closable. These can now be closed. - PCAB Export Now Uses Legacy Syndication Method to Ensure Complete Output
Client version 5.75 added a change for segmentation, which sped up the process and skipped pasteboard items. Unfortunately, when using the new method, the optional PCAB export didn’t have some necessary information, and it failed to generate the export files. Now, when PCAB export is requested, the output functionality resorts to the legacy syndication method. (INDESIGN-4458)
- Enhancements to 'Save As' Behavior for Multi-Page Documents in Distributed Production
Several changes have happened to when using BLOX Total CMS > Documents > Save As... or its equivalent at File > Save as BLOX Total CMS Document.... Now, when using these, the original document will be checked in. Previously, the document was left in a checked-out state. In addition, when a multi-page document is renamed with these tools, it will correctly set the naming of all pages in the original document. The only oddity of using either Save As to rename a multi-page document is that it does NOT tell Page Tracker that the extra pages are removed. Thus, the Open by Status and Page Management dialogs will show the extra pages as live documents rather than with the :minus: icons. (INDESIGN-4459)
- Advertising Enhanced Mode Forced for Remote Distributed Production Users
The Enhanced Mode option is now forced on users logging in using a Remote mode for Distributed Production. This prevents users from accidentally creating an edition of pages for Distributed Production without being in Enhanced Mode. (INDESIGN-4444)
