Query rules control what content gets pulled into a block. Query rules operate on an inclusion/exclusion basis.
For example, if you choose to change Section Tags, you can then set whether you want to include or exclude the news section. If you choose Include, content will only be selected from the news section, and no others. If you choose Exclude, content will come from all other sections besides news.
Individually, each rule is an "or" statement. You can include Breaking or Featured flags. As a group, all the rules are an "and" statement. Content must match every single query rule exactly in order to be added to the given block.
NOTE: If content is not ending up where you want it to or where you expect it to be, there is a disconnect between the query rules and asset's settings. Most of the time, the asset is missing a section tag, a keyword, or a flag that the block is expecting.
NOTE: When using the Title query rule, the title must be wrapped in quotation marks to return results.
