When creating your section map you may want to split your content into subcategories. For example, within the news section, you may want to break content into local news, national news, and hyper-specific topics such as deals or health and safety. For these subcategories, you can create child sections within your main section. When you add child sections they will appear with your main section in a slider. The reader will not be able to see these sub categories until they click into the section. But once they have they can navigate between the main section and its child.

Reader Experience setting
(If the customer has the experimental setting, “native_eedition_tab”, applied and turned off or does not have the e-Edition tab this feature will not be an option to readers)
One way we allow readers to feel like their experience within the app is tailored to them is by allowing the primary tab to be customized. This means when the reader opens the app for a new session the first thing they see is customized to their primary reading preference. We offer two options: the home asset feed or e-Edition. The reader has two opportunities to customize this. The first time is during onboarding. The second is from their “Profile” tab through the “Reading Experience” button.
Two options are presented. Depending on which is selected will change the first position of the tab bar and what the reader will see upon opening the app.

Section slider
The typical reader will have their favorite sections. Maybe they really enjoy local news, and local sports and make it a habit to check these sections once or multiple times a day. To make it easier for them to enjoy their content and get to it easier we offer a “favorite sections” option to allow them to select their favorite sections.
By default, the section is empty and prompts the reader to select the row to add sections.
Once clicked they will see a list of all the sections you have created for them and allows them to move sections to their favorite and rearrange the order it appears. This creates a personalized experience curated by the reader for the reader. This section is always editable by the reader. Optionally, they can allow for their favorite sections to show in a slider on the home page.
Once they have exited the screen they will see their favorites appear above the rest of the sections.
The optional favorite slider appears on the “Home” feed below the navigation bar. Clicking an option will open the section immediately without requiring navigation to the “Sections” tab by the reader.
