Video assets are great a great way to tell your story. Everyone gravitates towards well-crafted video to accommodate a story. Video assets support the .mp4 file type using H.264 encoding and AAC/MP3 audio codecs.
How to create a Video asset
To create a new Video asset, within BLOX Assets select +New at the top of the Search Results panel and then select More...>Video. This will populate the Video (new) panel where the required information can be completed to build the asset.

Video asset support a wealth of options, but only require the following:
Asset title
Video asset
Section tag
The following file types can be uploaded, but they'll be converted to the preferred .mp4 format: .webm, .avi, .mov, .mpg, and .wmv.
For best performance, Video assets should be limited to 10MB/minute. If the Video asset is too large, we recommend that you run it through a video conversion tool, such as HandBrake.
If you're unable to determine the cause of a video upload error, we recommend that you run problematic media through a tool that provides technical reporting of the asset that you're troubleshooting, such as MediaInfo.
Building the asset
Title: Add a meaningful video title.
Video: Use the dropdown menu to locate a video located either on a local machine or Dropbox account.
Poster: Add an video "still" image to represent the video within video players by selecting +New and then adding the video from local drive or Dropbox account.
Preview: Add an image to represent the Video within content blocks and search results by selecting +Change and then adding an image from local drive or Dropbox account.
Authors: User the dropdown menu to attribute an Author to the article. The menu will include registered Admin/Normal BLOX users.
Byline: A Byline may be included. This will appear either alongside the Author or by hovering over the Author, depending on the presentation style.
Description: A description can be included that will appear beneath the video asset.
Start Date/time: Use the date/time tools to specify when the video should be viewable to readers.
Display Priority: The default value is null, or 0. Enter a value here to signify higher importance for the day it's published.
Tags: Within the Sections panel, select +Add and then select the URL the asset should belong to then then choose Save to build the Video asset.
Video Uploads via URL
Video assets can also be created via video URL from video platforms such as youtube.com and vimeo.com. This can be completed by selecting +New and choosing the Enter video URL option. This process will automatically populate Description, Poster and Preview fields with data from the original video URL. Enter video URL
360° video assets are supported by BLOX, but 360° videos require that the 360° Video Mode option be checked. This option is located within the Other tab within the Miscellaneous properties panel.
During this process, if you encounter any errors relating to being unable to find video information, the URL is either not using the HTTPs protocol or the file isn't using the H.264 Codec and/or .mp4 file extension.
