What is "This update is important" and what does it do?
When new information is added to an asset, an "Updated" flag can be viewable within both the article itself and content blocks, to alert readers that updated information is available.
Additionally, comments may also be included to provide readers more context about the update. Declaring important updates should only be used when new information has been added and not when a correction with punctuation or spelling has occurred.
How to enable Important Updates
Within the Editorial/Asset Application Settings, navigate to the General panel. Next, enable the "Manually declare important updates" option and then Save to complete your changes.
If this option isn't enabled, all subsequent asset updates will be considered important and will feature the "Updated" flag.
How to enable Update Comments
To allow comments to be made when an important update has been made, enable the "Allow update comments" option and then choose Save to complete your changes.
How to manually declare Important Updates
Once these options have been enabled, two new options will then be available within the asset Save menu:
Comment on this update comment field: Use this field to provide context to the update.
This update is important checkbox: Enable this checkbox to manually declare the update as important.
