1. From the dropdown in the the upper left choose Marketplace / Banner Ads.
2. Click New and choose the ad type you want to create.
3. Each ad type requires different information.
All ads will require a Name. All ad types will also have a Start Date and End Date, Tags, Related, and Other in the editing window.
4. Under Tags, find Positions.
4.a To assign the ad to a section/region, in Positions click Add.
4.b Type in the name of the section this ad belongs on. This has autocomplete, and a list of sections will come up as you type. Click on the name of the section you want to assign this ad to.
ROS stands for Run Of Site, and should be used if this ad should appear on every page that has a particular position.
If the section you want does not come up, it may not exist, or is a URL instead of a section. Ads must be assigned to sections. For more information see Sections vs URLs.
4.c Type in the name of the region you want to assign this ad to. This has autocomplete, and a list of regions will come up as you type. Click on the name of the region you want to assign this ad to.
4.d Click the checkbox for the section/region you want to assign the ad to, and click Assign.
5. Click Save. The ad is now ready to go online.
6. Target your ad region to a Blox Ad Block
The final piece of getting an ad online is to placing the ad block on the page where you want it to go. In order to do this, you need to set up a couple of items in the block itself.
- Open Design Blocks
- From the URL map, select either / if you want your ad to run ROS, or select the section where you want the ad to live.
- Scroll down to the block library
- Create or duplicate your ad block (Ads: BLOX Ads)
- Select the Appearance tab
- Copy and paste your ad region from the application settings
- Set the position number. This is usually 1, but if you are stacking your ads this could change.
- Select Above the fold, Spans the fold, or Below the fold for ad targeting purposes.
- Enter in the maximum width you want to display in this block
- Set the Overline (optional)
- If this is a Wallpaper or Anchor ad, change the Display Mode to the proper selection, otherwise leave it at Default.
- Choose the Configuration tab
- Give the block a unique name. This usually corresponds to the ad region.
- Save and close
- From the block library, drag your newly created block to the region on the page where you want it to be.
- Click Save block layout changes.
