BLOX Total CMS > Save As… now Checks In when using Distributed Production) Distributed Production Users inadvertently had access to the BLOX Total CMS > Documents > Save As... feature. Some earlier access to that functionality left the original document checked out. It now properly checks in that document. INDESIGN-3428
Improvement for the Output of Document Jump Pages) Document Jump Pages, a special form of BLOX Total CMS Jumps where pages can be shared, must include non-printing page items during output. Unfortunately, that process also caused subsequent output to include those same non-printing page items. We now check the initial setting of both Adobe InDesign’s PDF preferences and the specific Adobe PDF Preset being used for the output, and return the values to both. This change affects only the few select sites using Document Jumps. INDESIGN-4091
Change to exclude Inappropriate Segments) We had a site that managed to create some cutout segments that had no bounds. This can happen when, for example, deleting all but one anchor point of a previously proper cutout segment or when using anchored items. These cutouts are now ignored. INDESIGN-4208
Layout 8000 now supports applying Page Content Types) Our support for the SCS Layout 8000 card format of the edition and layout files now supports reading both the GROUPUSED and BLOCKUSED to apply Page Content Types. Page Content Types, besides providing useful information, can be used to automatically apply Page Design Snippets, which can automate some of the page-building process. In addition, with the availability of Passive Budgeting, sites can find appropriate assets for pages based upon default slug searching and the Page Content Type to Section code mapping to further speed production. INDESIGN-4257
Layout 8000 Alternate Ad Number Location Change) For over a decade, we’ve supported several different SCS Layout 8000 sites’ use of alternate locations in the .out file for the ad number. We discovered recently that if any of the .out file’s lines contained a double quote, ", the functionality could fail. This has been corrected. INDESIGN-4257
Faster Distributed Production Check In All of _BU documents) For many versions, Distributed Production users can use the BLOX Total CMS > Documents > Check In All... feature with an unsplit _BU document to rapidly check in all pages of a document. We recently determined that the process sends both segments and previews, and it likely should NOT because if the edition is an update (for example, _BU_2), the segments could override completed pages. Thus, the Check In All feature no longer sends segments or previews. As a result, it operates considerably faster. If you need the previews and segments update, you should be able to modify something in the document and save to force a preview update. INDESIGN-4408
Jump Turnline Processing Change) Client version 5.75 made a subtle change to the automatic jump items. Adobe had reported that Adobe InDesign could crash when attempting to change text that wasn’t visible because the frame was overset. Since the jump item’s codes are frequently more text than the completed jumps, this means that they were nearly always overset when initially placed on the pages when jumping assets, and prone to crashing. Crash reports from sites also indicated that processing jump items was a frequent crash point. However, we had a site that frequently used excessively long jump keywords. Unfortunately, the code change from version 5.75 would use Adobe InDesign’s methods of expanding the frame until the frame could no longer be overset. But in the case of narrow columns and log jump keywords, no amount of height change would cause the text frame to lose its overset nature, and it gave up when it reached Adobe InDesign’s maximum height. Unfortunately, it left the frame at that excessive height. It no longer does this. INDESIGN-4488
Distributed Production Preference to Non-Force Enhanced Mode) Client 5.77 added a feature to force Enhanced Mode for Distributed Production users after a site attempted to check in an Edition of pages without it. This version has added an option in the Pages tab of BLOX Total CMS > Settings and Support... to allow Distributed Production users not to be forced to use Enhanced Mode. INDESIGN-4500
Revision for Distributed Production Document Check In to support Legacy Clients) Client version 5.80 forced a change to the format of the Distributed Production metadata. If a Distributed Production Remote user upgrades to 5.80, users still using older versions of the client will not be able to open the newer client’s uploaded documents. The 5.80 release notes warned about this condition. To allow an upgraded user to re-upload compatible documents, they can now select the Use Legacy Metadata Format option in the Pages (P) tab of BLOX Total CMS > Settings and Support... to support clients older than version 5.80. Upon relaunch, the preference will automatically deselect. INDESIGN-4503
Ad Statuses Dialog Change) The Ad Statuses dialog had non-functioning handles that allowed the user to enlarge the dialog. Ad Statuses didn’t show any more information when doing that, however. The handles have been removed. We did verify, however, that if the host OS is set to 100% (versus an enlargement like 110% or 125%) and Adobe InDesign’s UI Scaling is left at its Small setting, all ad information, including Blocks, page Color Modes, and Page content types, will be displayed. This verified display also includes all the paths, controls, and buttons at the bottom of the dialog. INDESIGN-4505
