Client 5.69 Release Notes

The Goal of client version 5.69

This is a single initiative release providing a first glimpse at an exciting new feature years in the making.

The feature extends the legacy Clone and Move feature with the ability of syndicating (copying) assets to alternate domains rather than only in the same domain.

Released for use by BLOX Digital on 27 February 2024

This was release for all up to date sites on 27 February 2024. It has been fully tested with the initial release of Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud 2024 (19.1).

At the moment, however, macOS versions of Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud versions 19.2-19.3 are problematic not just for BLOX Total CMS clients. Or current recommendation for macOS sites is to use the final version of Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud 2023 (18.5.2)

5.69.00-03 Released 2024.02.08

Changed Method of determining Appliance or Non-Appliance based BLOX Total CMS sites) Since the BLOX Total CMS appliances are on track for End of Life, new features will be limited to non-appliance or hosted-based installations. The functionality we had been using to determine that status missed our BLOX Digital domains and would not always work after changing domains if a site had pooled domains. That has been corrected. 5.69.00-02 Released 2024.02.05

Display of Cross Domain Clone’s Source Page Status in Open by Status) There is now a » column in the Open by Status dialog. Currently, it can display an S if the page has been used as a source for a Cross Domain Clone. Destination demarcations will happen in a future feature. INDESIGN-4201

Faster Response for Open by Status) A change to Page Tracker has allowed Open By Status to display the designated page information faster. This results, however, in the display of page content types being limited to a single page content type per page. In the past, a page with more than Page Content Type one would have included a + in the column to indicate that more than one had been applied. INDESIGN-4201

Filtering in Dialog for Cross Domain Clone > Complete) The dialog to select destination pages to complete has been enlarged to display up to 15 pages. More importantly, however, it has gained both a domain name and pure text search to help you locate the desired Destination Page to complete. INDESIGN-4213

5.69.00-01 Released 2024.02.01

Cross Domain Page Clone) As an extension to the existing same domain Clone and Move... functionality, we've added a Cross Domain Clone... function that requests the placed assets from the first page of a source document to be cloned to different domains. Subsequently, those cloned asses can be placed on a first page of a destination document in the destination domain using the source page's positioning. The functionality requires no configuration in the client and nothing has to be enabled. But, your domains will need a site tag from the source domain to each destination domain. It is recommended that these site tags be configured using fast syndication enabled with linked sites. In addition, make sure that none of the workflows for the assets being cloned prohibits syndication. To use the feature, choose BLOX Total CMS > Cross Domain Clone > Request... to start the process. Several minutes later, after the assets have had time to make it to the destination domain, choose BLOX Total CMS > Cross Domain Clone > Complete... Unlike Clone and Move..., this only replicates asset frame sets. We expect all page furniture will be placed by Page Content Type driven Page Design Snippets. Just like Clone and Move..., this new feature uses the images placed in the source pages. Thus, if you tone that image for print before initiating the Completion process, you will have toned the images on all the cloned pages. INDESIGN-4200
