This article describes how to configure a new BLOX CMS Channel in Syndication
Before configuring a BLOX CMS channel, the site will need to get a webservice key and secret from the source BLOX CMS site from which content will be added.
To obtain the webservice key/secret, follow these steps on the source BLOX CMS site:
- Log into the BLOX Admin
- Go to 'Settings > Webservice Keys'
- On the 'Manage Webservice Keys' pop-up, click the 'New' button
- Name: Arbitrary field, describing what the key is being used for
- Capabilities: Will need access to the "Wire" capability in order for Syndication to work properly. (note: Select Wire. Do not select the "Syndication" capability which is used for a legacy jobs method. Yes, we agree this is confusing, apologies!)
- Save. This will generate the Key and Secret you will use to configure the Syndication Channel.
BEST PRACTICE: You will want an individual key and secret for each site you are sharing content with. This way if you no longer wish to share in the future, you only need to remove one set of permissions instead of reissuing for all the remaining sites.
Next, go to the destination site on which you want to set up the BLOX CMS channel to pull content from the source site.
- Log into the BLOX Admin
- Go to 'Editorial > Syndication'
- On the top right, next to where it says 'Logged in as:', click the Settings Button
- Under the 'Channels' heading - click the 'New' button and choose 'BLOX CMS site'
- Channel Name: Arbitrary name
- Webservice key: Paste the key you generated above
- Webservice secret: Pase the secret you generated
- Domain Name: Domain name of the source BLOX site from which you want to add content.
- Default Source: Name of the agency which generated the content being brought over (optional)
- Workflow: Choose from your available workflows, if desired (optional)
