How do I update to the latest e-Edition skin?
NOTE: It is recommended to always do this change in the afternoon, as the majority of users are consuming e-edition in the morning.
How to upgrade a Blox E-Edition customer to the new skin
Change E-Edition skin to e-Edition 2022. This makes the new look live immediately.
2.Upload a logo. This is generally the same as the site logo, so you can use that unless you choose to use a different one. This is done in the page customizations panel. There are other options that can be configured here as well.
3. Link puzzles button.One of the following must be set up in order for the Puzzles button to display.
Option 1: Fast implementation, linking to puzzles page:
When a user clicks the button, your puzzles page will open in a new window.
In the page customizations panel → e-Edition section, check the “Puzzles button link” option and paste a URL to your games/crossword page on site.
Option 2: Keep user in e-edition, linking to puzzles section within the paper:
When a user clicks the button, they will advance to the first page of puzzles in your e-edition.
Create a new puzzles section tag beneath your primary e-edition section: eedition/puzzles.
Manual method: add the puzzles section to the appropriate pages within the e-edition
Automated method:
Editorial section must be mapped through the e-edition job in Application settings
Part of the setup is in Page Tracker’s e-edition tab
Deeper tagging is handled through the Content Types tab on the Page Creation menu under settings
4. Add the experiment option “eedition-qr-code-extraction”. This allows QR codes to work on the e-edition. WARNING: This can only be done by BLOX Digital. Please contact Customer Support to have this option enabled. QR Codes are only presented in squares, circles are not supported.

5. Ad Units: Upload or create GAM ad blocks to allow customer to monetize their pages.
The following information is available for configuring, or you can simply import the set of blocks that are pre-configured to appear in all utility regions in the attached file.
Pagepeek ads: these show above the left and right pagepeeks when there is enough space, such as desktop view.
Above each pagepeek is a utility ad region for placing ad blocks: "e-Edition Left Page Peek" and "e-Edition Right Page Peek"
Place "Ads: Google Ad Manager" blocks in each region and set their sizes to "[320,50]" for each size
Pageview bottom ad: an ad region that can be dismissed by clicking on the "X." When dismissed the ad won't show up again, in the browser you dismissed it, for 24 hours.
At the bottom of the pageview is a utility region "e-Edition Bottom of Pageview"
Place an "Ads: Google Ad Manager" block in this region and set its sizes to:
Mobile: [320,50]
Tablet: [320,50]
Laptop: [320,50]
Desktop: [728,90]
In-article ads (segmented pages): There are two utility ad regions in the storyview named "e-Edition Top of Storyview" and "e-Edition Bottom of Storyview"
Place "Ads: Google Ad Manager" blocks in each region and set their sizes to:
Mobile: [320,50]
Tablet: [320,50]
Laptop: [320,50]
Desktop: [728,90]
6.Optional: configure settings for nav background color and date format as desired.
Note: the BLOX NX native mobile app has a very nice e-edition layout with native sticky footer ads in the e-edition reader.
